“Plannen en Bouwen”, sponsored by Euregio Maas Rhein (EMR), involves the creation of a geodata infrastructure (GDI) to provide various user groups with a better basis for gathering information, planning or making decisions regarding land planning at the local or regional level.

The infrastructure is based on the publication of administrative geodata in catalogue services, which creates transparency. Web mapping services are also enabled, allowing users to access maps via the internet and thus use the available information more efficiently. The benefits and added value of GDI are to be demonstrated through the development of various applications (pilot applications). Groups of internal (planners, decision makers) and external users (citizens, business world) will be involved in five different specific application scenarios. They will need to gain local and regional perspectives of the current situation or planning efforts taking place across the border.
